LAHAINA CIVIC CENTER
Lahaina, Maui - Trailing only 19-12 after the 1st quarter, University High
School of Oahu believed that it had a chance of upsetting Los Al. Soon, the
Bows realized that they could not match up with the much bigger Griffins.
The Bows' senior point guard Casey Kushiyama, who has the speed and talent
of a Sunset League player, lead all scorers with 17 points. As for the Grifs,
junior swingman Ian Martini got his 1st double-digit scoring of the season with
11 points, joining 2 other players in double-dee Jeff Grgas (14 points) and
Brian Rakusin (11 points). More so, Los Al held University to 9 rebounds and
no offense of boards for the Bows, outrebounded the Bows 36-9. Los Al went
to the charity line 51 times and converted 29.
