SEMI-FINAL GAME at 6:00PM,
LAHAINA CIVIC CENTER
Lahaina, Maui - In a game where 52 fouls were being called, in which 3 starters
from Los Al fouled out, the Grifs' composure were maintained well enough to
win its 11th game in 12 tries. Los Al lost Ryan Keller, Ron Prettyman and
Kenny Carter to 5 fouls each, and the bench stepped up to clinch a hard
fought victory over the Newport Knights. Brian Rakusin came off the bench
to score 18 points and pulled down 12 boards, while Eddie Courtemarche added
12 points to lead Los Al to a 66-46 victory. In spite of a 20-point spread,
the Knights kept the game close for almost 30 minutes. Tripper Johnson lead
Newport with 14 points. Los Al faces
Arlington of Riverside on Thursday evening for the trophy.
